Globe Launches First Online Telco Community in the Philippines

Globe Telecom recently launched the first comprehensive online telco community in the Philippines that will enable both Globe and non-Globe users to explore, answer, and learn about its products and services.

Powered by Lithium Technologies, the world leader in Social Customer Experience, the Globe Community (community.globe.com.ph) is a social portal uniquely designed to encourage knowledge-sharing of Globe products and services with other users on various topics like account-related concerns, service-usage tips, and other topics about its products and services.

“At Globe, providing superior customer experience is at the core of everything we do. Nowadays people turn to online channels to search for help on problems and concerns any time of the day or night. That is why we have come up with a dedicated forum that will be an avenue for Globe customers or potential customers to interact, discuss, and resolve Globe related concerns and topics,” said Globe President and Chief Executive Officer Ernest Cu. 

To register, a user can go to community.globe.com.ph, click on either the ‘Register’ or ‘Connect to Facebook’ from the top-right section of the website. Once registered simply click on ‘Join the Conversation’ to login.

As a person with terrible Obsessive Compulsive syndrome, I have a tendency to customize everything that I can and tailor it to my personal lifestyle. Creating your own promo is as easy as 143. Simply dial *143# on your mobile phone and choose what type of promo to avail. You can also choose to create your promo via  Globe Website or via GoSakto Facebook App.

After mix-matching promos, you are given the option to choose the validity of the services that you've availed; from 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, or 30 days. And just when you thought this service is already amazing, here comes more. Get this, you can actually name the promo that you have created to seal the deal. If this isn't cool enough, I don't know what is.

I'm a proud albeit abusive user of Globe's SUPERSURF50 to powerup my Globe Tattoo Mediapad. I like how it allows me to surf like there's no tomorrow, with a connection that's faster than my DSL from another network. Really, it's an immanent glory to have the ability to be online while on the go, especially when I'm in someplace short of Wi-Fi connection. It gives me bragging rights, too, whenever I get to instagram and my peers can't because the venue does not have free Wi-Fi. The only downside is, SUPERSURF50 only lasts for 24 hours. But well, thank goodness for GoSakto, I can now choose my own surfing bundle, with an added call/text credits, and extend its validity up to a month. Man, my cyborg life is complete.

I had the chance to experience it first hand last night during the Davao GoSakto Launch at the Ballroom of Marco Polo Hotel. It's pretty easy to do, super convenient and very much pocket friendly.

Globe Telecom Hosted the 1st Davao Media Excellence Awards

Globe Telecom hosted the 1st Davao Media Excellence Awards Night at the Grand Ballroom of The Royal Mandaya Hotel last Friday, November 23, 2012. The venue was jampacked with the metro's esteemed journalists, broadcasters, reporters and bloggers alike. Globe aims to recognize the outstanding media practitioners in their respective fields.


The panel of judges was spearheaded by Ms. Margie Moran, chair of the Mindanao Commission on Women. Other judges include Philippine Women's College of Davao director Dr. Marario Tiu, University of Southeastern Philippines Institute of Language executive director Dr. Patricia Elbanbuena; University of Mindanao Institute of Popular Opinion executive director Dr. Ma. Review: Globe Tattoo MediaPad (With a Bit of Musings on Destiny)

I don't believe in luck, but I'd like to believe in destiny. When things are destined for you, it will surely knock at your doorstep no matter what. Anyway, I'm not exactly fond of joining blog giveaways, but when I do, I make sure that the prize at stake is something that I 1.) badly need, 2.) love to death but can't afford, and 3.) simply tickles my fancy. Also, I don't make it a habit to keep my hopes high, especially if the winner is to be drawn randomly. What are the odds, really? But like I said, if you're destined for something, it will come when you least expect it. 

Case in point: Remember this post I wrote about Andrew's Globe Tattoo MediaPad Giveaway? I joined because I badly need  a tablet for my job. Well, apparently, I was destined to win it (Thanks Globe Telecom and Andrew for the early Christmas Gift!) ! I did not expect it. In fact, I prayed that if I wouldn't win, I'd have enough funds to buy myself a tablet for Christmas. Well, God knows how to surprise me! Last week, this baby finally landed into my palms, through which I rightfully named her Destiny. Sounds legit, don't you think?

Why I Need a Globe Tattoo MediaPad

I live a redundant double life. One being a home-base web content manager/QA and the other being an aspiring professional blogger. They say I have been spending too much time online. I say, that's where I get my bread and butter. With that said, I am always in constant search of things that would make my life easier. I already own a decent laptop and a slightly decent smartphone, but sometimes, they have certain limitations that I know for sure, only a tablet can gratify. So yes, I need a Globe Tattoo MediaPad in my life. Here's why:

1. As a Web content Manager and QA, it is imperative for me to check our website projects on all platforms. That includes checking how a certain website would look like on a laptop/desktop, mobile phone, and tablet. Unfortunately, I don't have a tablet, at least not yet. So yes, I need a Globe Tattoo MediaPad in my life.

2. As a blogger, I sometimes attend events where constant social media updates is called for. For the past months, I got myself into believing that my gingerbread of a smartphone can suffice. But who am I kidding? I  actually get cranky when I get an unstable connection; I could almost create my own meme. Poor public Wi-Fi could be a factor. But still, a more updated OS and a reliable internet connection, not to mention, a gadget with a decent megapixel camera could do a lot more. So yes, I need a Globe Tattoo MediaPad in my life.

3. As a person who believes in the power of Social Media, I am compelled to bring myself online anytime and everywhere I go to catch up with the latest news. That's right,  I get my daily dose of public awareness over the Web because information spreads like wildfire online; it's faster than a speedlight. In the same way, I speak my mind through these social media channels in order to be heard and hopefully contribute to the betterment of the community I live in. So yes, I need a Globe Tattoo MediaPad in my life.

Technology: It's More Fun at SM Cyberzone

As a blogger, there are quite a few tech stuff that are very much essential in my life. These are Mayumi (my laptop), Zack (my camera), and Lexi (my smartphone). I consider them my techie little friends that make my blogging life alive and dancing, Gangnam style.

Problem?

Last September 27, 2012, I was privileged to be one of the few Davaoeños who took a sneak peek before the grand opening of yet the biggest mall to hit the town; SM Lanang Premiere. What's even more exciting was that, I was invited to grace the ribbon cutting of SM Cyberzone. It got me really excited because Cyberzone is simply God's gift to the tech-loving citizens of the world, bloggers included.

What I like about the Cyberzone at SM Lanang Premiere is that it offers a number of choices for your tech needs. You get to have a wide selection of stores that caters to every single gadget you can think of. This way, you get to have a variety of options that allows you to find the best gadget to compliment your lifestyle. Plus, shopping around cyberzone is quite an experience by itself since the architectural design of the entire place is very modernized and innovative. When you're there, you kinda feel like you're in one of those futuristic movies; like Tron, perhaps?
